By Graziela :: then and now

Since 1965 Graziela Preiser has worked as a successful creative director, graphic designer and illustrator. Alongside her work for several lifestyle-magazines she has created and designed a variety of collections, from bedlinen and children’s fashion to stylish crockery. The unique Graziela designs were made internationally famous by press coverage and acclaim, especially through the magazine ‘Brigitte’ which had many popular mail order pieces all designed by her.

In the Archives section of their site, you can have a chance to pick your favorite past design to relaunch next, they will be drawing a winner every two months so there is a pretty good chance of winning something cool!

Helen Rawlinson :: after my own heart

It's been strange not having an etsy shop open in the past few months. I haven't taken a break, trust me, I've been hard at work behind the scenes on a great new project that I hope to launch soon. Right now I'm waiting for that perfect weather for a photo shoot outside and then we'll be ready to go. What I can tell you for now is a name and a place to bookmark, Peekaboo Collective, Inspired by kids... just like the work of Helen Rawlinson who shows that being a mom doesn't have to just be about wiping faces and changing diapers! I admire Helen because she opens the doors to how kids can inspire us in the design world and really translates that simple childlike aesthetic in her prints and textiles.

seesaw letterpress calendar

I am really enjoying this oversized letterpressed calendar from seesaw designs. I'm a few months late but there is still plenty of time to show it off before 2011. The limited-edition wall calendar includes four designs, each with 3 months per page (size is 7.25″x11.5).

In Bloom

In 2008 Three high school friends combined their multi talents of printmaking, installation and costume design into In Bloom Design Studio, located in Taiwan. They rely only on the their beautiful organic surrounding for inspiration (the best kind) and translate them into these beautiful contemporary prints. All their work is hand silk screened and designed with so much precision, as you can see in these gorgeous product shots. It was fun hoping around their blog but you'll have to use google translator. They also have some really great shots of their life behind the scenes at installations and shows on their flickr site.

Holley & Gill

I'm totally inspired by these fantastic handmade headboards from Holley & Gill. Unfortunately in reality my bedroom is totally and completely neglected of any style what so ever... mismatched dressers one from the 40's and the other from the 70's adorn a very depressing light mauve wall (i knew I hated it when we were rolling it on but didn't have the energy to change it). We have no headboard, we don't even have a real bed frame...ugh i don't even want to get into it...But this makes me feel like there is hope for my "sleeping cave". From the printing to the upholstery these gorgeous headboards are hand crafted from top to bottom in Montreal Canada and are commissioned to your needs and style. Lovely work guys.... I'll just continue to gaze at these shots and dream it is my room.....

Land Carpet

Saw this on Notcot today and was totally impressed by the idea! Florian Pucher designer of Landcarpet, winner of EDIDA 2009 for best floor covering. It's a series of area rugs made from 100% New Zealand wool, inspired by nature and farmed landscapes showing the world from straight above, as we usually see it only out of the window of a plane.
