a quick thank you!

I just wanted to take a moment to say a much needed THANK YOU to all of my FB supporters out there. This weekend i had a blast at the Buffalo Small Press Book Fair. The FB press table was continually hopping with great people who some just even wanted to stop by to say hello and tell me that they have been to the FB blog and or seen my stuff online. so as you all know, none of that could of happened without the continual support of YOU, the readers. even though you might not see it, i read each and everyone of your comments and take it to heart, it's great encouragement and inspiration for me to keep doing what i'm doing and that is to bring people together through creative inspiration.
It is a bit daunting for us indie artists in this time of economic flux, for we all know that most people have to put their priorities in order which doesn't leave a lot left over to splurge on the crafty things in life BUT don't let it bring you down. Keep yourself out there like I am, the best way to get through these tuff times is to stick with the community and motivate your peers as they do for you. It is still wonderful to get your work out there and seen and thats what i intend to do here so keep your submissions, opinions, and comments comin...communication is the key!

Book review :: Weekend Sewing

Living in the hustle and bustle of New York City, Heather Ross likes to take a moment of personal creative time for herself every once in a while. she calls this time "weekend sewing" time. its the time where she can set up a short project for a few hours or even a few days and just become completely emerged in the fun creative endeavor.
Weekend Sewing is Heathers compilation of fun and easy sewing projects that you can accomplish in a weekend. some will only take a few hours when others are made for a two day project. This book is brightly articulated with great how to illustrations with each pattern and project.  Heather has also put in some great tips and tricks throughout the book for you to play with. yet the first thing you need to do when you open this book is read about Heathers inspiration growing up in the mountains of Vermont in the Introduction, it's such a fun and heartwarming read that totally brings you back to your own childhood.

WIP :: FB press fall 09

i decided to post some of my WIP in hopes to get some feedback from the community. i think WIP feedback is the best thing you can do when developing ideas. some people look at it as a cry for help but i think of it as a source of creative growth.
so with the baby zoe monster on it's way, i've pre-planned some of my upcoming seasonal work for freshlyblended press. i was toying with the idea of taking a break from it all to pursue motherhood mind, body, and soul, but i just couldn't give it up, is that selfish?  i felt like if i left the biggest creative inspiration and motivation in my life then what will i have to offer zoe when she gets older. so i've planned a few possible fall additions to the press in hopes that i will be able to physically follow through with production when she is here in a month. We must make goals in our lives, it's the one thing we have to look forward to these days with all the hustle and bustle of the world. feel free to leave a comment for feedback, likes, dislikes, all is welcome.
