i decided to post some of my WIP in hopes to get some feedback from the community. i think WIP feedback is the best thing you can do when developing ideas. some people look at it as a cry for help but i think of it as a source of creative growth.
so with the baby zoe monster on it's way, i've pre-planned some of my upcoming seasonal work for freshlyblended press. i was toying with the idea of taking a break from it all to pursue motherhood mind, body, and soul, but i just couldn't give it up, is that selfish? i felt like if i left the biggest creative inspiration and motivation in my life then what will i have to offer zoe when she gets older. so i've planned a few possible fall additions to the press in hopes that i will be able to physically follow through with production when she is here in a month. We must make goals in our lives, it's the one thing we have to look forward to these days with all the hustle and bustle of the world. feel free to leave a comment for feedback, likes, dislikes, all is welcome.
American Bittern, possible letterpress print for the "land birds" series
"trees" print, not sure how yet...could adorn a journal cover
"vines" possible print or book cover for a journal
"cotton tail" long and lean landscape journals and mini jotters
land birds pen holder notebooks and modular paperbacks
Hi there - I think the trees print could look great on a lamp, where the lamp becomes the base of the print. Thanks for sharing, I love your work!
ReplyDeleteI really love the simplicity of these. The colors are classic and the designs are sophisticated and timeless. really great and calming (just like your blog! thanks for that!). I would LOVE these on wallpaper, especially the trees, the vines, and the land birds.
ReplyDeletegood work!!
These are so very beautiful, every single one. I very much like the clean lines, the organic feel, and the whimsy of it all.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have these designs printed on fine linen to make into skirts/blouses/dresses!! Please...I'll send you the fabric!
ReplyDeleteNice work!!!
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed with this new work. The designs ave both a contemporary cutting edge quality but are also quite nostalgic/romantic. Hopefully I will get to Buffalo on Saturday and purchase some of them.
ReplyDeleteinspiring... all of it. and no - you are not selfish for wanting to keep your creative work up! I let mine go and am a bit lost without it - but I have twins, so not much choice. I am hoping to get back to it soon, and your blog is a help to get me going.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I really love those birds!
