paper chandelier

tis the season for decorations. as we "fall" into the celebration season, people are coming up with some wonderful handmade decorations. one i've been seeing everywhere is the paper chandelier. not sure if it's a polish tradition but the first time i saw this was from wren handmade's blog last january stating she got an original from a polish festival. if anyone cares to enlighten me on this paper fantasy, please do.

  1. Incredible! I had coffee filters in my hand when I was at the store the other day...was gearing up to make all sorts of decor with them, but then I chickened out. This is new inspiration for me. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I saw Laura's original in person. So amazing! Her husband's family is polish, so she got that from poland I believe.

  4. These are called pajak(i). They're a traditional Polish folkloristic holiday decoration with a long tradition. They come in many shapes and styles.
I saw that many blogged about them but didn't know what they really are, so I dedicated today's post to pajaki. It's in German, but I'll be adding an English version to it today.
