Time for Change

I've come to a little conclusion and have made a huge decision that will effect FB greatly. No it's not a bad thing... let me explain, the reason I made the second part of the Summer Collection all Wallpaper minis, is mainly because this will be the end of them. I will be retiring my hardcover books for a while. The amount of time it takes to make the wallpaper journals has backed me up alot from doing other things i've wanted to start doing, so it's really just not as practical for me as what i would of wanted. On a brighter note, this will free me up entirely to dabble back into my illustration roots (which i've been wanting to do for the past year) and experiment with more materials. I'll also be able to focus on more practical type books like my modular paperbacks and matchbook jotters. I think the great responce to the modular paperbacks really solitified this decision.

I'm not putting away the wallpaper though, it WILL be integrated somehow...it's in the plans. It does seem like I haven't been out in the public long enough to make such a hardcore decision like this but being an artist to me is all about experimentation and creation so thats what i'm going to do and see where it takes me. I see new and great things in the future and  I can't wait to recreate myself  for you this fall/winter. Of course I will be documenting my transformation here.

You will however, have one more chance to get a wallpaper journal this september at the Second Storie Indie Market. Whatever is left from the summer collection and what i am making for the market will be all I will be making. It will be a great stopping and starting point for me!    wow, i feel less stressed already!

  1. I always wondered how you made so many books! I thought my bookbinding skills were just super inferior (they still are!) I totally understand and I can't wait to see what you make next!

  2. I agree seamlessly with what you said - being an artist is all about experimenting and finding what you enjoy most, as well as what sells. Go for it! I look forward to seeing your new creations and illustrations.
