I'm tray excited about an awesome new book being launched by Chronicle this March. This beautiful silk screened hardcover coffee table book is a brilliant dedication to the world renowned Florence Broathurst. This book showcases more than 100 never-before-published patterns and popular prints—such as those owned by Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, and Carly Simon. I also brings you into the world of a woman dedicated to prints and patterns ahead of her time! I'm sooo excited about this book that i may have to pre-order it!!!!
that book cover is gorgeous on screen. . .i can only imagine what it would be like in person. and only $25!
ReplyDeleteThis book looks fantastic! Florence Broadhurst is having a bit of a "moment" - I hear that a movie is also being made about her. I think she led a very interesting life.
ReplyDeleteAhh Florence Broadhurst!! She's an Aussie textile design icon! There has indeed been a movie made about her called Unfolding Florence, but it's already been in cinemas and is now on DVD I think. I should really go hire it!

ReplyDeleteYou MUST buy it; it's wonderful (released here in Australia last year). The plates are beautifully glossy and her life story is amazing- she was a real character. If I had to name 5 people living or dead for one of those hypothetical dinner parties she'd be at the head of the table!
